William Anderson Meguire, Jr. (Mac), age 95, passed away peacefully at his residence in Brighton, CO on September 15, 2021. He was born on August 10, 1926 to William Anderson and Ethel (Louthan) Meguire in Stratton, Nebraska where he also attended schools and ultimately graduated from Stratton High School. After high school, William decided to enlist in the Navy in 1943, during the WWII era, where he proudly served his country for a number of years.
After an honorable discharge from the Navy, William attended school at A & E to become an aviation mechanic. After receiving his aviation license as a young man, William worked as an airplane mechanic at the “Old Frontier Airlines” from 1947 to 1986, until their operations ceased, and then Continental Airlines for a year and a half prior to retiring in the fall of 1988. After he retired from the airlines, William went on to pursue his passion working fulltime on his family farm, which was purchased in May of 1966, located in the Hudson/Fort Lupton area.
In May of 1952, William married Mary Elaine Petri, and they remained married for a number of years until her passing. Throughout a lifetime, one can only be so lucky to find love twice in their lives. On November 16, 2002, William remarried Edith Cherry in Brighton, CO at The Church of God, which was the same church they continued to attend for many years.
William loved and enjoyed talking with his friends. William loved to dance with his wife Edith, for the exercise and to simply have a good time.
William is survived by his spouse, Edith (Cherry) Meguire, of Brighton, CO. He is also survived by his son, William G. Meguire of Fort Lupton, CO. William is preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Elaine; son, Michael A. Meguire; brother, Allen Meguire; and sister, Betty Walts.
