Sharol Kay Black, 83, of Brighton, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2020. She was born to Hearld M. and Helen “Irene” (Powell) Cromwell in Jefferson, Iowa. She married William Black in 1955. They lived in Iowa and Missouri before settling in Brighton, in 1972.
Sharol was a talented seamstress. She worked for Big R Ranch Wholesale and later for Gerry Baby Products, in Thornton. She enjoyed baking, camping, fishing and taking long walks either around Brighton or in the mountains. She was well-loved and cared for by family and friends and the many wonderful caregivers at Balfour Cherrywood Village in Louisville.
She is survived by daughters Cynthia Black (Brentley High), Billings, Montana, Sandra Sack of Brighton and Candace (Nick) Werth of Brighton, 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, many wonderful neighbors and friends. She was predeceased by Bill, her husband of over 50 years, in 2008.
Sharol was known for her hard work, home-made pies and cookies, well-maintained yard, her determination and her quick wit. She always had a smile, wink or laugh for all. She was dearly loved and will be missed.
A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery on July 31, 2020, at 10:00 a.m.
