Romelia M. Sanchez, age 83, of Brighton passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020 in Brighton. She was born on March 15, 1937, in Mexico to Pablo and Candida Martinez (Ruiz). She married Fidencio Sanchez on November 19, 1954 in San Francisco del Oro, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Romelia has lived in the Brighton area since 1970. She is a member of the Nueva Esperanza, New Hope Church of Brighton. She was a woman of strong faith and served in the women’s and children’s ministries of her church. She also loved to sing praises in her church choir. Her favorite hobby was garage sales. Romelia enjoyed both shopping at and staging garage sales. She lived for her family and her church family.
Romelia is survived by her husband Fidencio of Brighton; sons Alfred (Jody) Sanchez of Brighton and John (Susan) Sanchez of Highlands Ranch, CO, daughter Virginia (Charley) Thompson of Oxford, MI, eight grandchildren and two brothers, Eliodoro Martinez of El Paso, TX and Alvaro Martinez of Lafayette, CO.
Public Visitation will be held at The Healing Place, from 6-7pm on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 with a Celebration of life to be held at 7pm following the visitation. Funeral Services for Romelia will be held at The Healing Place at 11am on Wednesday, March 11, 2020. Private Interment will be held at a later time.
