Robert Earl Templeton

After a short stent with an aggressive cancer, Robert aka “Bob” passed away on February 13, 2021 while in hospice care at the age of 81. He leaves behind his wife of 64 years, Stella, their sons Doug (Teresa) and Steve and daughter Sandra Weingardt (Ed).

Bob was born in Henderson, CO to father Earl Templeton and mother Ardath Latorra who predeceased him. He grew up in a loving family with 2 sisters and 1 brother.  He served his country in the US Army proudly until his honorable discharge. He worked as sugar end foreman for Great Western Sugar Company his entire life until retirement.

Bob married Stella Baslee May 26, 1957. They lived in Brighton, Henderson, Sterling and Lovell, WY all for the sugar industry. His passion was working for the sugar company. In 2006, following retirement, they relocated to Greeley, CO near their oldest son Doug and his wife Teresa. There he enjoyed gardening and working in his shop.

He loved small family gatherings where they could eat and laugh with one another. He was a gentle man with a big heart and loved to tease his children and grandchildren. You could see him coming from a distance by his tall stature wearing either a cowboy or baseball hat.

Bob’s biggest dream was to care for his wife their children and spend time with each of them. He is survived by his wife, 3 children, 4 grandchildren, Levi Templeton (Jodi), Ashley Renslow (Chad), Afton Dains (Russel) and Taylor Templeton (Chuck) and 8 great grandchildren, Samantha, Bella, Jonah, Cambrei, Caleb, Cailyn, Seth and baby Renslow. He is preceded in death by his parents and grandson Zachariah Templeton.

A memorial service will be held at Living Grace Baptist Church at 3251 W 22nd Street in Greeley, CO on March, 13, 2021 at 10:30 AM.  Following the service there will be a fellowship and luncheon hosted by the church.
