Patricia Schiefelbein Obituary

The family of Patricia Florence (Jones) Schiefelbein is saddened to announce the passing of their Mother.

Patti and her twin brother, Patrick (Pat) were born in Henderson, Colorado, on February 3, 1945.  The twins completed the family of Charles Ardell and Buelah Mae (Alexander) Jones.  Patti and Pat joined siblings, Walt, Helen and Tom.

Patti was raised around the Fort Lupton area and graduated from Fort Lupton High School in 1963.

While growing up she worked at the Canning Company in Fort Lupton. She enjoyed being around children, which was a good thing because she raised eight children when she married Joe Schiefelbein.  The blended family included, Margo (Bill) Kretzer, Todd Jones (who died in a Marine training accident in Okinawa), Jacqueline Howell, Jack Howell, Jr., John (Becky) Howell, Bryan Schiefelbein (deceased), Shelly (Dave) Sack and Ricky Schiefelbein.

Once the children were grown, she went to work at Northeast Elementary running the daycare.  She was known by hundreds of children, throughout her 15-year tenure, affectionately, as Ms. Pat. It was a joy in her later years when children she had watched over, would come up to her, and give her a hug.

Mom’s last 3 years were spent under the care of the compassionate staff at Avamere Malley, after having a stroke that left her paralyzed on the right side of her body.  She fought very hard to re-learn how to speak, feed herself and write.  She made many friends there before succumbing to the effects of cancer and kidney failure.  To help pass the time, she would do word search books.  Before COVID, she enjoyed playing Bingo with the other residents.  With her winnings (quarters), she would buy her snacks.  Mom loved her snacks of Mike and Ikes, Graham Crackers, 3 Musketeers, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Mountain Dew.

In addition to her children, she is survived by her twin brother, Pat of Brighton; grandchildren: Jolene (Randy) Yager, Jessica (Pete) Lupfer, Zachery Howell, Austin (Charlotte) Howell and Kaycie Marrone; step grandchildren, Samantha and Elizabeth Sack, who she adored.  She will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Due to COVID restrictions, a private service will be held.
