Michael Steven Skinner was born in Kansas City, Missouri on September 25, 1969, to Joseph Skinner and Dianne Furrow. He was the middle child of 6 children.
Michael spent the majority of his childhood growing up in Minneapolis, MN and later lived in South Dakota and Ohio.
In 2002 Michael moved to Colorado where he met the love of his life and in 2003 was married and had 3 adoring children; a daughter and twin sons. Michael and his wife started a very successful commercial glass business from which he retired in 2021.
From a very early age, Michael loved to “go fast”. From his tricycle, Big Wheel, Hot Wheels play sets, and later to bicycles and dirt bikes he loved to go fast. This continued through his adult life with his Harley Davidson, his boat, his 4-wheelers, and ultimately drag racing his diesel truck. His passion was racing his truck. After retiring, he committed himself to travel and racing with his brother Patrick, brother-in-law Rick and other friends and family as his “crew”. He and his truck were featured on magazine covers and in articles for diesel racing.
He also very much enjoyed camping and going off-roading with his friends and family on their RZRs.
Michael was a very devoted husband, father, son and friend. In his quiet, non-assuming way he was willing to help those who needed it get back on their feet. If you were his friend, you were a friend for life. Throughout his life he was a dog lover and could usually be found with his dog alongside him every day in his work truck and as he traveled.
Michael is survived by his parents, his wife and 3 children, as well as his brother and 4 sisters.
He was a loving, soft-spoken man with a great (sometimes dry, teasing) sense of humor and will be greatly missed and forever loved.
Celebration of Life is being held on July 30, 2022 from 11am - 2pm at the Alli Event Center, 100 South Third Avenue, Brighton, CO. 80601
