Sally Torres

Sally Torres was born in Tecolotenos, New Mexico to Melaquias and Eleanor Abeyta. She was the third child in a family of fourteen. She was raised in Brighton, CO until she married the love of her life Basil Torres on August 28, 1954. 

They lived in Ft. Lupton, CO for twenty years and moved to Brighton in 1974. She was a dedicated worker. She worked in the farming fields as a child with her family, she spent time as an insurance agent, and settled in at Wester Electric/Lucent Technologies There, she was a lay operator, a floor supervisor, and other various positions during her career. 

After retiring, Sally spent time travelling with her family and was a caregiver for her grandchildren. She was an active member in the church from teaching catechism, to being a eucharistic minister, and went to adoration every week. She had a strong faith in God and continued to share that faith until she died. 

Sally is survived by her husband Basil, her sons: Basil Jr. (Lois), Chris, and Donnie (Christine). Her heart was so full of love that she loved Anthony, Josette, and Dean (Dino) as her own. She had six grandchildren: Tanya, Gina, BJ, Adrianna, Alyssa, and Diana. She had nine great-grandchildren: Dillon, Havanna, Phoenix, Tatum, Austin, Kylee, Peyton, Dimitri, and Giovanni. Her one great-great grandchild was Zane.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents and her siblings: Mel, Dan, Sam, Bob, Steve, and Elaine. She is survived by her siblings: John, Cleo, Tony, Jenny, Dolores, Abe, and Paul.
