Mary Jane Bode was born in Cherokee, Iowa, on July 3, 1921. She grew up in Tilden, Nebraska, where she met and married Orlandes Bode. In 1937, they moved to Colorado where she was a homemaker and mother to five children. After the death of Orlandes, she moved to Oklahoma where she lived until 2015. In 2016, Mary Jane moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming. Mary Jane enjoyed camping, fishing, dancing and traveling. She always took great pride in her home, and loved feeding all who entered, especially whipping up a quick batch of her delicious German pancakes.
Survivors include children; Charlene Unrein of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Barbara Bentz of Duncan, Oklahoma, Lannie (Penny) Bode of Stilwell, Oklahoma, son-in-law Ron Hibbets of Aurora, Colorado, sister, Delores Blinko of California, along with many grandchildren, great-and great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Orlandes Bode; son Bobby Bode, daughter Lora Lou Hibbets; parents Nells and Ella Richardson; grand-daughter Anita Daigle; siblings Neil Richardson, Opal Tambley, Charlotte Lindsey and Eva Jean Cook; and sons-in-law Glen Bentz and Donald Unrein.
