LOWELL SCHUYLER
08-1-1928 to 4-13-2021
Lowell was born August 1, 1928 to Richard and Irene Schuyler in Fort Lupton, Colorado. They lived a few years at the west end of Fort Lupton and then moved to Cemetery Lane. He graduated from Fort Lupton High School in 1948.
After school, he worked for Fort Lupton Electric and then Colorado Central Power Company. Public Service Company bought Colorado Central Power and Lowell worked there for 35 years.
He married Ellen May Gilman in Platteville, Colorado on June 1, 1952. They gave birth to Timothy Lee (1954), Deborah May (1956), and Cynthia Lynn (1957). Cindy preceded her father in death in December of 1959. Ellen and Lowell were married for 68 years.
Lowell belonged to the First Baptist Church of Fort Lupton, Village Baptist Church of Thornton, and Crossroads Baptist Church of Northglenn before attending Chapel Hill Church of the Nazarene with their son, Tim. With his brother, his cousin, and his father, he sang in a men´s quartet at Fort Lupton Baptist Church. In service to his creator, Lowell served as a deacon, a janitor, a building committee member, and a choir member.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and woodworking. He was a member of the Fort Lupton Lions Club, often holding office.
After retirement, he enjoyed meeting with friends for morning coffee. He and his wife enjoyed trips with the Brighton Senior Center. They also served the center as volunteers. They enjoyed many trips with the Pioneer Club of Public Service. For eight years, they wintered in Mesa, Arizona.
He volunteered as a crossing guard for Adams 27J in assistance of his grandchildren. He and Ellen attended most of the sports activities of their grandchildren, serving as a vital part of their lives.
Lowell persevered through many health issues. They participated in the Relay for Life organization for cancer survivors for many years.
He was preceded in death by his brother Lyle and his sister Eileen Graetzl, and a great-grandson, Ayden Rouse. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Schuyler; his children Tim (Rebecca)and Debbie; 4 grandchildren Christina Schuyler, Keri(Nathaniel) Rouse, Daniel(Stephanie) Schuyler, and Sabrina Schuyler; 3 step-grandchildren Felisa(Squirrel) Busken, Joel(Carrie Ann) Reed, and Tim Reed, 3 great-grandchildren, and 8 step great-grandchildren.
