Josephine Angelina Woodard

Josephine Angelina (Valerio) Woodard was born on December 2, 1925 in Denver, Colorado to Antonio and Enriqueta Valerio. She was the second youngest of 4 brothers and 1 sister. Josephine spent the majority of her childhood growing up in Denver where she attended Manuel Highschool. Josephine married Jack Richard Woodard on August 13, 1946 in Mare Island, California. They had 2 daughters, JoAnn and Buena Marie.

Josephine worked in the downtown Denver/Aurora area as a hairstylist. She was a hairstylist for 25 years and pursued her career in owning her own business. Throughout her time as a retiree, she enjoyed her needlework, cross stitching and other hobbies.

Josephine loved all her grandchildren and great grandkids. She loved spending time with her family. Her family was very important to her.

Josephine is survived by her daughter JoAnn and her husband James Bell, two grandchildren Janessa(Paul) Hoffman and Jason(Shawna) Bell, four great-grandchildren Belle, Cade, Lyla and Kash who lovingly called her “G”

She was preceded in death by her parents Antonio and Enriqueta Valerio, her husband Jack and her daughter Buena Marie as well as her 4 brothers and 1 sister.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
