Joe Philbert Gonzales

Joe Philbert Gonzales was born August 18, 1953 in Greeley, Colorado to Gilbert and Josephina Gonzales and was the second of five children. As a family, they lived in Pierce, Louisville and mostly Brighton. Joe was also known as Philbert or Phil and was a graduate of Brighton High School. After graduating, Joe worked as a butcher, then a custodian for Brighton School District 27J. He always took great pride in his work, even while working as a donation associate at Arc Thrift Stores, shortly before retirement.

Joe was loved and adored by everyone he met. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing chess. He was very funny, always laughing and making silly jokes. Everyone was sure to have a good time when Joe was around.

His generosity was second to none and his heart was beautiful. He found great pleasure in giving gifts to everyone he loved, constantly on the lookout for things he knew would be appreciated. He was kind and loved spending time with his family. He was a wonderful man that will be dearly missed.

Joe is survived by his daughter, Valerie Gonzales; his sons Joey Gonzales and Onie Padilla; his grandchildren, Ana Quintana, Andrew Perez, Ariel Gonzales and Jayla Gonzales; his siblings, Joann Fresquez, Sharon Zuniga, John (Kathy) Gonzales and Dennis Gonzales; his nieces and nephews, Candice Smith, Brian Fresquez, Daniel Gonzales, Don Jr. Zuniga, Leon Zuniga and Jenna Gonzales, David Gonzales and Michael Gonzales.
