Joe Gallegos went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2021. He was born January 19, 1926 to Leo Gallegos and Rayitos Sena Chacon. He grew up in Hudson, Colorado with his 6 brothers and sisters.
He was drafted into the Army in 1944 and was sent to the heart of several battles during WWII. He was awarded a Bronze star for his bravery. He then came home and transferred to the Air National Guard out of Buckley Air Force Base.
In September 1951, he married Wanda Lee Jefferies. They built a loving life in Brighton, Colorado and was blessed with his son, Michael and daughter, Deborah. He became a Regional Manager for the Housing Urban Development and his hard work earned him many awards.
Joe was an amazing and prolific guitar player. He had his own band and also shared his gift with others by teaching guitar. He always brought out his guitar for family holidays to entertain the family. He enjoyed spending time with his family and helped take care of his grandchildren when they were younger. He was truly devoted to his family and always lent a helping hand.
Joe leaves behind his son, Michael Gallegos; daughter, Debbie (Mike) Brown; and grandchildren, Mandie (Tim) McBride, Tracie (Jason) Gallegos, Mystie (Chris) Bartlett, Jazmyn Brown, Jadyn Brown and Jarett Brown. He also leaves eight great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Wanda; parents, Leo and Rayitos Gallegos; brothers, Marshall, Paul, Johnny; and sister, Victoria.
