Dennis Montgomery Obituary
Dennis Lee Montgomery was born on November 6th, 1944, in Sioux City, Iowa to Orthello and Doris Lavonne (Edwards) Montgomery.
The family relocated to Colorado when Dennis was a child where he went on to graduate from Brighton High School in 1962. He married Carrol Davidson in 1962 and became a father to three daughters, Denice, Tammy and Tina. In 1970, he married Lynne Holman and became a Stepfather to Heather and Ken Sherwood and shortly thereafter had a fourth daughter, Kelly. In 1984, he wed Beverly Bolton until her death on January 19th, 2023.
Dennis explored many career paths before eventually starting with Coors Brewing Company in 1970. He was hired as a welder/pipe fitter and retired as the Manager of Construction specializing in Welding in the year 2000. He taught welding and pipe fitting at Red Rocks Community College in his spare time while raising his family.
Dennis enjoyed camping and fishing across the state of Wyoming- his favorites being Miracle Mile and Flaming Gorge. Later in life, he enjoyed gambling in Mesquite and Laughlin, Nevada as well as spending time with his family. He was a member of several social clubs including being a life-time member of the Brighton Elks Lodge before transferring as a member to the Arvada Elks where he loved spending his free time playing pickles and visiting with his friends.
Dennis, or as he was lovingly referred, “Denny”, is survived by his two brothers Larry, Roger and sister Charlotte, his four daughters Denice Stratford (Scott Brown), Tamara (James) Anderson, Christina Trimm, Kelly (Chris) Montgomery-Eccher, as well as eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and the little love of his life, his dog Jenny.
Dennis remained a stoic force to all who loved him until his last moments on earth which was spent surrounded by his loving family.
