Obituary

Alice Mae Schreibvogel

Alice was born on November 25, 1934 in Bantry, North Dakota to Raymond and Lena King and was the youngest of five children.   Alice spent the majority of her childhood growing up in Denver. She moved to live with her sister Lilian in Casper, Wyoming where she finished her high school education.  Alice worked in downtown Denver for Shell Oil Company at the start of her career.

Alice married the love of her life, Kenneth Herman Schreibvogel, on August 3rd, 1957.  After her marriage to Kenneth, she built a loving, nurturing home to raise her family and kept up the bookkeeping for the farms.

Faith was a vitally important aspect of Alice’s life and it was a rare event that she missed a weekly mass.  She fostered a strong love of God in her family and grandchildren.

Family was incredibly important to Alice and she spent considerable time visiting and hosting numerous family members, brother and sister in-laws, cousins and others. Alice was known for her wonderful cooking and was always ready to make a great meal for all who came to visit. She also taught many how to cook.

Kenneth and Alice enjoyed traveling in their fifth-wheel to sunny destinations and to visit family as well as attending any fair, sporting event or activity that their grandchildren participated in.  To Alice, her family’s life milestones were just as important to her as her own.  She and Ken loved to attend polka dances on Sunday afternoons and for New Year’s Eve.

Alice remained a faithful daughter of God until her last moments on Earth, surrounded by family.

Alice is survived by her son Steve (Kris), daughter Lori (Todd), son-in-law Karl, daughter-in-law Julie, brother Richard, sister Lillian, 9 grandchildren, Trevor (Lacie), Rorey (Nicki), Brady (Maddy), Kyle (Shanae), Dana (Drew), Bailey (Doug), Spencer, Dylan (Lanna), Kellie (Reed), and great-grandchildren Angelique, Gage, Kinley, Allie, Rylee, Raygen, Easton, Briggs, Miles, Holden, and one on the way. She felt well loved by dozens of brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.  She is preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband Kenneth, son Kenny, daughter Lynda, and brothers Eddy and Ervin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Heart of the Plains Cemetery.
